SUMMARY Never and Forever (The Wizards of Once #4).
Well This wasI m not *sure what this was Both the thrilling conclusion to a series I ve largely njoyed *what this was Both the thrilling conclusion to a series I ve largely Bringing the Empire Home enjoyed far but also uite a let downAs the fourth and final instalment of Cressida Cowell s highly imaginative series The Wizards of Once this title Never and Forever is full of the usual plot twists humour and highnergy story telling we ve come to xpect The first issue I had with it is that there is ndless rehashing of the first three books To be fair there are a number of characters to keep track of wizard boy Xar warrior but yet magic Wish ambivalent bodyguard Bodkin and a seemingly innumerable Building the Cold War entourage of sprites fairies talking birds giantsnemies the Big Bad Kingwitch a warrior ueen and a wizard king It becomes a little Canadian Art, Volume 1 (A-F) exhausting trying to keep track of it all and to thatnd the recaps serve their purpose However this should absolutely not be treated as a standalone book s almost here The fourth and final instalment of Cressida Cowell s amazing The Wizards of Once series After following these books from the beginning this is something I have been waiting for since last September and I jumped to have the chance to review it via NetgalleyJoin Xar Wish and Bodkin as they continue their uest to rid the WildWoods of the diabolical witches This time along with their band of loyal followers they must journey into the Mines of Happiness to complete the spell that will banish their Counter-Amores enemies before taking on the KingWitch himself But is Xar s poisonous witchstain too strong to cure Does wispy Wish have control of her magic that works on iron And what if theirntrusted spell fails to workThis is an adventure of Dancing at Armageddon epic proportions a uest involving warriors wizards witches giants and sea monsters which creaks with ancient magic Xar is a wizard with no magical powers Wish is a warrior with a rare magicalye that works on iron But in this world magic doesn t work on iron that is the accepted and proven rule Yet as these young heroes throw the rule book out the window and lead their tribes into a chaos that s riddled with curses will deep wrongs Double Jeopardy ever be rightedThis is a book of uniue mysterious storytelling from an author who is also guilty of dispensing with the rule book Thever present but unknown narrator TELLS us the story with large doses of opinions and finger wagging yet it works to the point of being masterful Becoming immersed in this story feels like having a spell woven around you one that pulls you in and keeps you captivated from beginning to Composition and Literature end The tone is deep and magical as we are transported back to a forgotten age where anclectic mix of characters merge together to create a intoxicating cocktail of delicious madnessThere s bags of humour which prevents the story from being too serious Xar s brilliant tongue in cheek reckless over confident character brings a large dose of light hearted humour balanced by the serious Wish Bodkin and Caliburn although deeply anxious also bring their own brand of unintentional amusement and the hugely Cezanne and Provence entertaining Encanzo and Sychorax Xar and Wish s respective parents offer a brilliant satirical insight into the demands of being a responsible adult Sueezjoos is beyondndearingand then there is the flying door the parping trumpet not to mention the animated antics of the key spoon and forkDon t relax too much though Throughout

Le There is a lot resting on their shoulders and I was rooting for them again all the book There is a lot happening in this book though at times I thought how much longer till the big battle and why does it take so long But in the Blacklands end reading it all I can say that it was well done there is not a step skipped There is details inverything While I would love the battle sooner I feel that now they were completely prepared Now Evolutionary Patterns everything was done that should have been doneI love the characters so much Wish Xar Bodkin but also the others that we meet along the journey But our main characters They didn t just make the journey to thend boss but they also made a journey in growing up In becoming wise stronger better controlled with their feelings The biggest one for me would be Xar Xar who at times was a spoiled brat who loved bragging and was doing all sorts of not so nice things at times I wasn t always a fan of him but in the last book and this one he was just so much better He still had his tendencies to just brag or lie but it was much less than before He changed so much He really grew up and that made me tear up when he himself noticed it as *wellThen there are Wish s mom and Xar s The two are still trying to get *there are Wish s mom and Xar s dad The are still trying to get their kids and stop the mission I wasn t always a fan of them given how they acted how they constantly tried to take control and how they constantly bickered But nearer to the Evolution As Entropy end I did like them They tried And after a certainvent they seemed to warm up a bit and become humanI love that Sueezjoos whose name is still awesome got so much of the spotlight this time He has been kidnapped by the Kingwitch and is turning turning into something vile and bad We see that he at times does have control but for most he is not who he was and that just saddened me To see such a sweet character turned into thisThe Forging Gay Identities end battle with the Kingswitch and all that happens after HOLY WOW That was just intense and I was cheering so hard for Wish Cheering for her to win To defeat thatvil To make sure that this world can be safe again It was really an Forbidden History epic battle truly annd boss level of WOWview spoilerWhat happens after the battle just made me laugh cry be happy It was amazingly written and I was so happy THOUGH WHAT WAS THAT King Arthur Morgan Lancelot Lanceamuch I was just sitting on the Fiche Blian ag Fás edge of my chair when that popped up and when Perdita tried to convince them not to pick those names as she could see destiny and prophecies Though she couldn t tell if they were for our group or someonelse I was just WOW Esteem Enlivened by Desire ed that the author went for this I love it And would love to know hide spoiler 35 stars Cressida Cowell really did save the best til lastI cannot uite believe how utterly shocked and satisfied I am with thending of this Wizards of Once saga and I really really want with how things Flights of Fancy, Leaps of Faith ended but at the same time we don t really need because redacted so when it was revealed that redacted was the unknown narrator and that redacted was redacted and redacted was redacted well uite simply my mind was blownThis had so manyxciting moments I cannot tell you It started off with high stakes anyway but the stakes just seemed to get higher and higher and higher with very passing chapter I genuinely think this is the best book Cowell has written not just in the Wizards of Once "series but ver It is so well rounded and character arcs just had such beautiful moments to them not just "but They Shall Be One Flesh ever It is so well rounded and character arcs just had such beautiful moments to them not just our main heroes but forven the smallest of the hairy fairies and The Heritage of Arabo-Islamic Learning ensemble cast I laughed I cried I gasped I wept tears of joy This wasverything for a Wizards of Once fan and I know as soon as you get to that last page you will be satisfied too. Ock Hereward (Hereward, everyntranceTime is not on their side but the forests are calling them Will their combined strength be nough for the BIGGEST uest so far; to defeat the Kingwitch once and for all A rollercoaster of suspense and surprise GUARDIAN Cowell is moving towards national treasure BIG ISSUE Another coup from Cowell SUNDAY TIM. ,

can it deliver I can honestly say this one did both in the dynamic action of theit deliver I can honestly say this one did both in the dynamic action of the battle but also in the way the characters delivered and in the surprise and hilarious twist at the nd In contrast the revelation of who the narrator wasn t uite as surprising or satisfying but it made sense I also felt that the character of Wish was slightly lost in the final *tale and would have liked to have spent time inside her *and would have liked to have spent time inside her specially in the lead up to her final confrontation with the Kingwitch However none of this detracted from the utter brilliance of the overall plotSo if you re thirsty for a uest with a difference then I cannot recommend this series highly nough Don t wait for it to be turned into a movie Curl up start from the very beginning and prepare to lose yourself in this fantastic fantasy adventure review by Alma 9I have completely loved the Wizards of Once series I had high hopes for the finale and it was Groom and Doom even better than I could have imaginedThe fourth and final book concentrates on Wish Xar and Bodkin who you ll have met in books 1 to 3 finding the last ingredient of the spell and using it to try and defeat the witches once and for all But when things go dangerously wrong they must find another way to surviveIt was a satisfyingnd surprisingly funny and you could never have guessed how the story would finishI would recommend it for magic lovers I ve been Eroarea lui Descartes enjoying the Wizards of Once series throughout so I was very pleased to receive a copy of this final book for review thank you to NetGalley and the publisher If you ve also beennjoying the series so far you won t be disappointed by this final instalmentThis story has all the usual crazy adventures we ve come to Murder at the Savoy (Martin Beck, expect from Wish Xar and Bodkin The magic and narrowscapes the humour and ridiculousness It also thankfully has happy 22 Britannia Road endings pretty much all round And hints at the future adventures of our unlikely heroesThe advance review copy did not yet have all the illustrations however those that were there show that they will be as brilliant andxpressive as those in the previous three volumesTreat yourself to the final chapter of this crazy adventure and be whisked away to a world of fun creatures and lively magic You won t regret it If you haven t read the previous three books I strongly recommend starting at the beginningI was given a free copy of this book my opinions are my own No spoilers but I was wrong about who the unnamed narrator was Read September 2020 for A Touch of Whimsy Readathon White Rabbit s House Cosy Night In The Royal Readathon Who Run the World Girls Read a Book Set in a ueendom MONSTERathon Area 51 Aliens or Mutants Involved and Seuel September This was prehaps my most anticipated book of the year and I truly don t know how I feel about it I m going to have to re read when my physical copy finally gets in to make sense of my feelings IM SORRY OKAY Cressida is my UEEN and as much as I would never wish to speak poorly of her this just didn t do it for me The other three books I have loved but this one was just plain boring to be brutally honest Never and Forever The wonderful finale to a wonderful seriesI have had this book in my possession for a few weeks but I just couldn t didn t want to immediately read it Then it would truly be over And I didn t want it to be over The first book that started it all that I got as a special Gabe Izzy edition during my trip to EnglandLondon in 2018 I am so glad that back then I couldn t resist bringing that with me because it started an amazing journeyIn this one the group is on their final legs it is the last tiny bits and then a big batt.
